My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I first discovered Matched on a trip to Sam’s Club — and read the first chapter in the middle of the aisle. I later downloaded the book for the Nook, and it has been a highly addicting read!
Condie created a futuristic and dystopic — yet believable — world, a mix of Fahrenheit 451, 1984 and Brave New World. Although I was first wary of Condie’s use of the first-person point of view, I found that it endeared the protagonist, 17-year-old Cassia, to me.
Matched was very enjoyable and I highly recommend it to fans of dystopic young adult novels. Crossed, the second book in the trilogy, is due for release this fall and Matched is already in progress as a Disney film!
