Hi! My name is Elizabeth/Betsy, and I’m a communications (journalism) and history major preparing for my senior year of college and June 14, 2012 – the day I will (Lord willing) marry my best friend. And then move to Fort Hood, Texas, and start the whole real world thing.
Ducks and Decisive Engagement is both a personal and a planning blog, so named for two integral elements in Alan’s life and in mine. In Korean weddings, it is tradition for the groom to give the bride’s parents a pair of wooden Mandarin ducks, because Mandarin ducks mate for life. “Decisive engagement,” on the other hand, is a military term referring to an engagement in which there is no evacuation route and both sides are committed to the end.
