Between the current state of the economy and DIY/budget weddings gaining popularity, I thought some brides (or their friends and family) might find it useful or helpful to see how much a “real wedding” costs (especially when we don’t have the help or funding of David Tutera and the Wedding Channel).  According to The Knot, the average American wedding costs over $27,000.  Fortunately, Alan and I are anything but average.  (And by that I mean we totally rock.)

shallow glass bowls – Wal-Mart = $3 ea./$31.80
river rocks – Family Dollar = $1 bag/$8.48 (Yes, we seriously bought them at the Family Dollar.  You’re all lucky we didn’t just wade into Penns’ Creek or the Susquehanna River.)
